Recovering private key of change address from Bitcoin Core

Hello, I am trying to help my mostly Bitcoin-ignorant friend with the following problem:
A long time ago, he mined some BTC using Bitcoin Core client with unecrypted wallet.dat.
Some years later, he added encryption to his client and sent some BTC to someone else ("transaction X"). Then he forgot the password of his wallet.dat.
He had backed up the original (unencrypted) wallet.dat file so I managed to extract private key of his mining address from it and send his funds safely elsewhere.
However, during "transaction X", around 0.7 BTC ended on a new "change address". I cannot access the private key of this "change address" because it was generated after the wallet was encrypted and he forgot the password.
Or is there a way to find this private key, e.g. are the change addresses PKs in Bitcoin Core generated using some non-random derivation algorithm?
I have access to both versions of the wallet.dat file (original unecrypted and later encrypted before "Transaction X")
EDIT: Thanks everyone. The wallet was old (non HD) type so the change address' private key is probably lost forever, unless my friend remembers his password.

Bitcoin uses cryptographic key "pairs"
There is a public address and a private key (long string of letters and numbers for each)
A simple way to understand it is a username(public address) and a password to allow sending money from that address(Private key do not share)
That is basically the gist right there.
Remember Bitcoin is a network so there are many many options from hundreds of vendors and open source projects to simplify the process and access the Bitcoin for you. These are called wallets. They manage your key pairs for you. To back up a wallet you write down a 24 word seed phrase(private do not share) this will allow you the leisure of not storing every single address you own and let the wallet store them for you. If your wallet is destroyed or lost this seed phrase is how you recover your coins. Only use trusted wallets that this sub can recommend you, use the search bar.
You can get Bitcoin by earning it. ORRR trading from an exchange. Depending on your country and local laws this could be various different places. But generally Kraken, Gemini, and Binance are the most popular.
Remember however, if your Bitcoin is not in your wallet or you do not have the key pairs it is in, then you do not own the Bitcoin. Keeping your Bitcoin on an exchange or another 3rd party is highly risky and vulnerable to hacks or the exchange just straight up stealing your funds or even government stealing your funds.
So: Not your keys not your coins.
Plus: Don't use Bitcoin "Doublers" or anyone claiming if you send them bitcoin they will send you back double.
Plus: Don't buy altcoins, ICOs, or get involved with defi.

It's burned in the fact that it enters a burn address (0x00 type of address). These addresses don't have a private key associated to them, so in theory the coins can no longer be claimed. Similar in how early adopters have lost BTC private keys in the past due to negligence, those coins are now considered burned.
At least that's my interpretation of it.

Is It Safe to Share Your Bitcoin Address?

Is It Safe to Share Your Bitcoin Address?
Is It Safe to Share Your Bitcoin Address?
Before we decide that sharing bitcoin address is compromised or safe, we must understand few important aspects of bitcoin address and its security because this information guides you in deciding whether to share the bitcoin address to anyone or on any website. Bitcoin is the most privileged cryptocoin in the current crypto world. Any bitcoin user can generate bitcoin address without even having an internet connection, and additionally, it is not necessary to register with the bitcoin world network. Thus people can create such address with the help of the software available freely on numerous websites. Technically, a Bitcoin address is a 160-bit hash of the public portion of a public/private ECDSA key pair. Using public-key cryptography, you can “sign” data with your secret private key, and anyone who knows your public key can verify your signature legitimacy.
A bitcoin address includes 26-35 alphanumeric characters with similar to 1, 3 bc1 which is a digital designation. A bitcoin payment address looks like "bc1par0srtr5xfkny3l613lydnw9re59gtzzkf8ndq"
However, this is one of a kind of bitcoin address format, and in fact, there are 3 other formats of such addresses. Those formats are P2PKH, P2SH, and Bech32. You can think of the address of your bank account number where the money can be received or deposited by yourself or third parties. Generally, most of the bitcoin address consists of 32 characters with random uppercase, lowercase, and numbers except “I” and “O”. These two letters have never been used till today to avoid the ambiguity. Bitcoin addresses are a consequence of generating a public and key pair. The address is known secretly to wallet owner. Therefore, this is entirely safe and secure if your storing device is not compromised.
Without sharing your bitcoin address, it is not possible to receive funds from another party, so you have to share the Bitcoin address without a second option. Now the question arises that what can happen to my address once you make it public. Hackers can manage to find your address, but cannot do anything until you share them your private keys. The private key can be understood like the password for your bank account for transaction requirement, thus without revealing your private key, people can locate your address, but cannot peep into your account details or be able to do any transaction.
These addresses are not crypto wallet nor balance accounts. You can use it to receive the crypto funds. These addresses are just like bank account numbers where other parties can see and deposit, but they cannot withdraw or send money from that account. Only the owner of the address has the power to send money if he/she has other private keys. Bitcoin address has a built-in check code, so no one can send the bitcoin to wrong address. If the address is valid, but without an owner in such cases the coins sent mistakenly are lost forever and cannot be reverted.
To conclude, it is very safe to share the bitcoin address to another by keeping the private key within your limitation. The private key cannot be accessible to any other third parties on any aspect.
Ultimately, investors have to be updated with the crypto world, especially while buy Bitcoin and buy ethereum other Altcoins.

Bitcoin address and private key in S04E08

Bitcoin address and private key in S04E08
Hello,
I didn't seen that posted anywhere so I will do it here. There was a bitcoin address in python code in last episode of Mr robot. As you can see on screenshot below. First is the public Bitcoin address which you can find here:
https://www.blockchain.com/btc/address/1MbwAEKJCtPYpLPxEkUmZxwjk63nQrpbXo
First transaction was +0.00013370 BTC :)
The second is probably private key, I didn't check it because someone (probably other viewer) transferred funds already but looking at length seems like a bitcoin private key (encoded using base58 check, also called Wallet Input Format). Anyway, nice easter egg :)

Is bitcoin's private key "hackable" when sending outgoing from that private key or address

I just put some stacks on trezor. Visible address only has that 1 incoming transaction but i have used that private key to send out 5 bucks from another public address. Is my stack quantum resistant?

The way online shopping with a credit card works is like giving out your Bitcoin private address to whomever you buy from anything, and telling him "pls only take $x then delete the key"

And that's fundamentally flawed
EDIT: I see you points, but two things:
  1. I was talking about debit cards too, sorry for the confusion
  2. Here in my country you eat the losses yourself in case of fraud, even though there is a VISA/MasterCard logo on your card
Also, I like the idea of generated temporary card numbers, that some banks have. 3D Secure is cool too, but only if it's enforced everywhere, which it isn't.
